Critical Role of Appetite Control
According to the USDA, the amount of food Americans eat has been rising while the percentage of energy burned per day continues to decrease1.
Studies indicate that the mean net caloric balance (excess of caloric intake over expenditure) is now 100 to 150 calories per day.
The total amount of food people eat differs among time periods throughout the day; as the day goes by, people tend to eat larger meals and eat again sooner2.
The prevalence of snacking between meals is 84%, contributing to undesired weight gain.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 66% of Americans are overweight.
Food and supplement ingredients to boost satiety and help control appetite are gaining recognition as useful ways to help consumers control hunger, eat less and manage body weight.
Super CitriMax®, helps control appetite, calorie intake and body weight without stimulating the central nervous system.
Reduced Calorie Intake
Multiple published clinical studies have demonstrated Super CitriMax’s ability to reduce appetite and decrease food intake3-5. One clinical study showed that overweight people taking 500 mg of Super CitriMax in juice three times per day for two weeks significantly reduced caloric (energy) intake by 15–30% compared to control, while satiety was sustained6.

The Maastricht Study Protocol
The 6-week, randomized, placebo-controlled, single-blinded, cross-over, clinical trial included 24 subjects who consumed 100 ml tomato juice three times daily (one hour before lunch and dinner and two hours after dinner) for 2 weeks (control period). After a 2-week washout period, the same subjects consumed 100 ml tomato juice containing 500 mgs Super CitriMax three times daily during the same time periods for 2 weeks.
Super CitriMax® decreases calorie intake and sustains satiety
Results showed that Super CitriMax significantly decreased 24-hour caloric intake by 25% and snacking by 40% compared to placebo. Super CitriMax also decreased calorie intake at every meal, while satiety was sustained.
Reduced Calorie Intake:
Compared to the control period, subjects taking Super CitriMax significantly reduced their average 24-hour energy (caloric) intake by 25.5%, or 574 calories, from 9.4 mega joules (MJ) to 7.0 MJ, (1MJ = 239 kcals). Specifically, subjects consumed 20% fewer calories at breakfast, 35% fewer calories at lunch, 7.4% fewer calories at dinner, and 40.7% fewer calories when snacking.
